What Happens When You Exercise
This is what happens when you begin a new workout program: If you haven’t been to the gym in a long time, or are just starting your first ever exercise program, then you’ll notice the day after your workout, you are really sore. It may take you a few days to recover from this soreness. This is because your muscles have been torn apart (on a microscopic level), and are rebuilding. As the muscles rebuild, they get stronger and bigger.
The more you workout during your exercise program, the less time it will take you to recover from muscle soreness. Eventually, you will very rarely get sore from working out, assuming you are doing the same routine over and over.
