There is alot more poision in food than in drugs, you are all eating steroids and growth hormones, pesticides and herbasides everytime you eat, drink milk, or go to a restaurant. Sure the Big Pharma companies are killing people but so is the Nations food industry. What people do not think about is that this may be Genoside that has been going on since world war 2. Is the United States Government pushing a population control agenda just like Germany did, that is what people need to be concerned about

I agree, the FDA has a horrible record when you look back and see some of the drugs they approved that later were found to cause all kinds of side effects, even deaths among customers.

The FDA is a puppet of whoever buys it that day. They have a “piss-poor” track record at looking out for the public, as anyone who has done their homework would know. I could care less what the FDA approves and what it doesn’t. Loads of drugs get on the fast track approval process because of bribery (or lobbying as it’s called in the US).

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I’ve seen commercials with attorneys stating, “Have you taken this drug. you may be entitled to benefits.” There are so many “ghost” studies that Big Pharma creates it’s ridiculous. Putting your health in Big Pharma or the FDA’s hands is like putting the fox in front of the henhouse…

Pharma companies do not have high profit margins…not by a long shot.
Pharma companies (name brand / non-generic) need to recoup the immense cost of R&D in order to continue to produce life saving treatments.
I do agree that some drugs are absolute B.S. and are produced mainly for profit…even though they do still serve some therapeutic purpose (i.e. Gardsil (MERCK))
Pharma companies are highly regulated…drugs that make it to market are approved by the FDA (government regulatory authority). If the benefit:risk of a drug is not in favor of the patient the drug will not be approved.
Doctors who complain about money should have their licenses revoked.

Killer article on what’s going down. The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA July 26, 2000;284(4):483-5) reports medical doctors are the 3rd leading cause of death, killing over 225,000 people annually:

- 12,000 â€” unnecessary surgery
- 7,000 â€” medication errors in hospitals
- 20,000 â€” other errors in hospitals
- 80,000 â€” infections in hospitals
- 106,000 â€” non-error, negative effects of drugs

People have been led to be dependent on people and corporations that don’t care at all about them.

This is a great article, and it is also a correct representation of a system that is profit driven first…and I wonder if they care about health at all ;not that there is anyhing inherently wrong with making an honest profit, bbbut that the question are there profits honest.

Hello,
This was a very good article, I just happened to stumble upon this. I have to entirely agree with the author, who is dead on. When I was 22 I was in a very bad situation. I was taken by a family member to a psychiatrist that someone else in my family had gone to. Anyhow, I had serious issues that I only wanted to talk about with someone in private. However, the psychiatrist told me there was something seriously wrong with me and did not address my past, what I wanted to talk about or listen to me at all.
Instead, he told me I had a “thought” disorder and that I was severely mentally ill. All this was told to me at the first appointment through his “expertise”. I was put on 4 prescription medications and took them for 14 months. Always he increased the dosage. I used to run track and cross country in highschool and I STILL gained 70 pounds on this terrible awful medication. The medication made me sick physically and mentally in ways that I had not been before or since I quit taking it. I tried to kill myself while I was on it.
I will NEVER go to a psychiatrist again because this is what happened to me there. I was put on EFFEXOR, RISPERDAL and two other medications which I threw out when I decided to cancel any future appointments. I am convinced some of these medications are worse than street drugs and CAUSE serious mental illness, depression and suicide. You are better off drinking beer if you are sad or talk to a FRIEND, etc.
These are some terrible drugs. That’s all I can say. –jess.
